Scientist with 15 years of career in the Psychopharmacology of Cannabinoids, with an important contribution in the description of the physiological mechanisms of the synergy between the cannabinoids compounds, known as “entourage effect”. He has offered lectures at various international conferences, including the Gordon Research Seminars in Switzerland, the International Cannabinoid Research Society (ICRS) in Italy and Cyprus, and the event CannMed of the Harvard School of Medicine in the US. He is one of the most prominent young scientists in Brazil, with more than 1600 appointments on an international level. He received the Brazilian Society of Neuroscience Award and was a candidate for the Brazilian Society of Pharmacology Award for his work in the area of cannabinoids and neuropsychiatric ailments. Today he works as a Scientific Director of Entourage Phytolab, a pharmaceutical P&D company dedicated to the development of the first Cannabis-derived medication in Brazil.

The conference will show the details of a meta-analysis study that gathers evidence of the best therapeutic profile in Cannabis extracts containing high levels of cannabidiol (CBD) in children with refractory epilepsy when it is compared to a treatment with purified CBD. This logic is based on Entourage Phytolab work philosophy in the development of his medicines.
